Spring Term 2018/19 Week Beginning 28th January

Before and After School

If your child walks to and from home on their own, please can you speak to them and encourage them to come straight into school. Unfortunately, we have several children who are late on a daily basis as they are playing football on the astro pitch. Although we encourage physical education, we need children to be in school and on time. Again, after school children are refusing to leave the property. This is getting better but we would appreciate your support too.

Firefighter Charity

A leaflet was sent home a couple of weeks ago asking for any unwanted clothing or shoes.

On Monday 4th February  a collection will be made at 9:15 so all donations need to be in school by then.

What can’t go in the bag?

We cannot accept bric-a-brac, toys, pants and socks, duvets, bedding, blankets, household linen, pillows and cushions, carpets, rugs and mats, curtains, towels, soiled, painted, ripped or wet clothing, school uniforms, corporate clothing or work wear, textile off cuts, yarns or threaded material.

How does this make money?

The bags will be weighed and collected. Pounds per kilo!

Where does the money go?

A small percentage goes towards the school but the majority goes towards The Firefighter Charity.

Any bin bags/carriers are fine

Reception Trip

Our Reception children are visiting St Peter's Church on the 26th February(pm) to link in with their topic.

Valentine's Disco

There will be an after school Valentine Disco on the 12th February - look out more details to follow.

Parking

Next week traffic cones will be outside of school to help the parkng congestion. Thanks for all your support and help in this matter. I know it has been very frustrating.

Attendance:

This week the attendance was 97%

Miss Knox’s class won the attendance award - Well done everyone!

Behaviour

Well done to Darling House who won the cup this week by collecting so many Class Dojo's!

British Values

This week we have read a story called ‘Giraffes can’t Dance’. This story focussed on respecting people’s differences. Our core Values this week that we have focussed on are; resilience, kind, tolerance, motivation and independence
