Coronavirus update - advice for parents/carers
Dear Parents & Carers,
I hope you have all had a great half-term break. As you will probably know, the Government has made some more changes to its COVID guidance. This is also the case for schools.
The legal requirement to self-isolate has now been lifted. Here at Bexhill we will continue to follow the Government Guidance. This states that pupils who test positive or display symptoms need to follow the guidance laid out in "People with Covid-19 and their contacts:
"Children and young people with COVID-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious. They should take an LFD test from 5 days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these tests results are negative, they should return to their educational setting if they normally attend one, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature. They should follow the guidance for their educational setting."
All of the staff at Bexhill Academy have been very grateful for your support when faced with children who might have had symptoms. The last two years have been challenging for everyone and my biggest priority is to keep everyone safe. This includes my staff, your children and the wider community.
All I can ask for is your continued support. If your child has symptoms please follow the guidance in full. Please phone us if you are not sure what to do.
The reality is COVID continues to be a risk and keeping everyone safe is all of our responsibility.
