Diary

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wise Games

As you are aware all of our KS2 children are attending Gateshead International Stadium on Monday 20th May. Parents are welcome to attend. Please note that this WILL take place instead of our traditional School Sports Day (obviously Key Stage 1’s Sports day will go ahead as normal).

Parents need to ensure that children arrive promptly at school, so that we can leave school at 9am. Parents are advised to get to the stadium and be seated for 10am. The gates open for 9 and you will be shown which stand is for Bexhill parents.

The stadium will hold a sports event for 7 out of 11 of our WISE Academy Schools.

The day will be broken into two parts the first part of the day all children will be involved in a variety of races. After lunch children have been competing in school to take part in our elite events. Those children now know who they are and will be competing against other children from WISE Academies in a series of different races.

All children need a packed lunch that day. If you require a school packed lunch (either those who are eligible for free school meals or those who wish to pay for a meal) then please let school know asap.

Children will have coloured stripes (using face paint on), so we can identify which children belong to which school. If your child has an allergy and is unable to have this on then please let their teacher know.

Year 6 SATs

The week beginning 13th May is Y6 SATs week. Please look out for a letter coming out next week with more details. Children need to be in school for 8:15.

Packed Lunches

Please can you make sure children do not having the following in their lunchboxes:

Fizzy pop

Energy drinks

Chocolate bars

London

Apologies for the typo in the previous newsletter, there is a parents meeting after school on Friday 17th at 3:30pm. Please note we are now unable to visit Wembley Stadium due to Pink performing, so we are now visiting Madam Tussauds instead. School are subsidising the extra costs that this incurs.

Please note you should now only have a balance of £70 left and this needs to be paid no later than the 24th May.

Firefighters Charity

If you have any clothing, shoes, belts, handbags that you no longer want please keep and bring into school no later than Wednesday 22nd May.

British Values

This week, children heard a story called ‘Vote’.  This introduced children to voting and focussed on the British Values motivation and independence.

Attendance

This weeks attendance is 96%

Mrs Major/Potts’ class won the attendance award with 100%  Well done everyone!

Behaviour

Well done to Hawking house House who won the cup this week by collecting so many Class Dojo’s!

Have a lovely (extra long) weekend and we will see you all back in school on Tuesday 7th May.
