Spring Term 2018/19 Week Beginning 4th March

Dear Parent/Carers,

Dear Carers,

World Book Day

Thank-you for your support on World Book Day, the children looked fabulous and enjoyed working in their family groups throughout the day. If you haven’t had a chance yet, take some time time to look on facebook at some of the amazing costumes. We linked the day to International Women’s Day and we focussed upon female authors. Don’t forget to take your World Book Day voucher to a shop and swap it for a book!

‘Book People’ Book Fair

This will run every night  next week after school starting on the 11th March (3:10- 3:45). You should Please note this is a different book fair to who we normally use. The books are cheaper, but unfortunately, you can’t use the vouchers you receive for ‘World Book’ day.

School of the Week

This week (Mon- Fri) Bexhill children for Y2-Y6 are on Sun FM at 3:25 (ish) to lead the competition for that day. Tune into har them and have a guess at what they are describing.

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is on Friday 15th March 2019. To raise money for this important charity your child is welcome to come in wearing red for a £1 donation - the more red the better! We would love it if all children participated but if your child would prefer not to then they must wear their full uniform please.

We will be selling red noses all next week after school on the yard.

Nursery Trip

We are going on a visit to St. Peter’s Church, in Sunderland, on Tuesday 2nd April. This is to enhance our Religious Education topic of ‘Introduction to a church’ and ‘Easter’. This trip will take place during the morning session (we are leaving at 9am and returning for 11.40am) and will involve a range of activities including:  Learning about the Easter story/learning the signs and symbols on the kneelers in the church/ taking place on a walk and tour inside and outside of the church to explore the main features of a church and the purpose of them. The cost of the trip is £3.50. This includes transport, the activities and a donation to the church. Please pay the money into school by Friday 22nd March 2019.

As the children are young, our adult to child ratio is high. This is to ensure the safe wellbeing of all children. Therefore we would appreciate some parent/carer volunteers to assist staff in supporting groups of children to access the activities. If you are interested please inform a member of the Nursery team.

Parents Evening

Parents Evening will take place the first week back after the Easter holidays (23rd and 24th April). Please look out for the letter to sign up to an appointment. Some parents will be requested to meet earlier than this date and you will get a separate letter.

Wise Games

Save the Date! On May 20th Children from Y3-Y6 will be taking a sporting event with some of our other WISE schools. Parents, carers and family members are welcome to attend between 9am and 3pm and watch the fun.

Outdoor sports pitch

We don’t mind children playing on this before and after school, however please note they are unsupervised and school can not be held responsible for any accidents.
