Y6 SATS Meeting

School Holidays

Please note that the children break up today for half term (15th Feb) Children return to school on Tuesday 26th February. Please note school is closed on Monday 25th for a teacher training day.

 

KS2 After School Clubs

Club letters are going out today and need to be returned by Friday 1st March at the latest. KS2 Spare letters will be in the leaflet stand at the office.

 

2 year old, Nursery and Reception parents/carers - Animals

We would like to give you advanced notice of our Spring 2 launch event. Our topic is ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and on Tuesday 26th February your child will get the opportunity to handle a range of animals with the company ‘ForPaws’. Please let us know if your child has any allergies that we are not aware of.


World Book Day

World Book Day is on Thursday 7th March 2019 and to celebrate we are inviting all children to come to school dressedas either their favourite book character or  in their pyjamas as we are going to use this day to promote the importance of bed time reading! We would love it if all children participated but if your child would prefer not to then they must wear their full uniform please.

We are also going to have a ‘book swap’, your child can bring in one book that they would like to put into the book swap shop and the choose another one to take home with them and keep!

 

 ‘Book People’ Book Fair

This will run every night after school starting on the 11th March for a week. Please note this is a different book fair to who we normally use. The books are cheaper, but unfortunately, you can’t use the vouchers you receive for ‘World Book’ day is this for a week

 

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is on Friday 15th March 2019. To raise money for this important charity your child is welcome to come in wearing red for a £1 donation - the more red the better! We would love it if all children participated but if your child would prefer not to then they must wear their full uniform please.

We will be selling red noses on the lead up to this date.

 

Y5/6 London

Please note the next instalment is due by 15th February. £200 in total should have been paid by this date in order for you to keep your place. The next instalment is due in April.

 

Reception parents/carers:

Please remember it is PE every Monday so please ensure your child's full PE kit is in school so that they can take part.

Can you ensure all children have the correct footwear on with their uniform. This needs to be a pair of plain black shoes/trainers. Several children are wearing colourful trainers, boots and shoes.

 

Year 1/2 Phonics Booster

Thank you for supporting us with this afterschool. I can assure you that it will benefit your child enormously. This will continue after half term for those who attend. Children will need to be collected at 3:30.

 

Year 4 Swimming

This will continue straight after the half term. Please note this is the first day back in school.

 

Year 4 Camping Trip

A letter should have made its way home about a camping trip to Pybus. The cost is £35 and the money and return slip needs to be returned by March 29th. Please ask in school if you need a copy of the letter.

 

 Attendance

This weeks attendance was 94%

MissCrowder's class won the attendance award - Well done everyone!

 

Behaviour

Well done to Hawking House who won the cup this week by collecting so many Class Dojo's!

 

British Values

This week we read a story called ‘Made by Raffi’ We have discussed ‘Reducing Gender Stereotypes’
Our values that we have  focussed upon were kind, tolerance and resilience.
